Project Based Learning

DSC_0201

After two months of having embarked upon our Project Based Learning, this week we have had the first exit point in Classes 2 and 4 and they have shown how the children have been able to link their curiosity & passion to a cross-curricular subject (Rainforests in Class 4 and Electricity in Class 2).

It’s been an amazing experience for all of us, students, teachers and parents. You only have to listen to them…

Class 2 have been working on Electricity and you can see in the following slideshow that it’s been really shocking! ( Miss Amy’s class)

Project-based learning (PBL) is considered an alternative to paper-based, rote memorization, teacher-led classrooms. Proponents of project-based learning cite numerous benefits to the implementation of these strategies in the classroom including a greater depth of understanding of concepts, broader knowledge base, improved communication and interpersonal/social skills, enhanced leadership skills, increased creativity, and improved writing skills.
