The right of peoples to peace

peace day 2014

There is no better way to start a new school year than celebrating Peace Day, a day that has proved to be the largest gathering of individuals in the name of peace ever seen on one day.

This year some of our secondary teachers had the idea of organising a different way of celebrating, a great event to strengthen our links and send the world our Peace message. This is how the Cup Song came to be and the reason why everybody has been very busy learning how to create a rhythm with a cup.

Those students in Pre-U who are studying Media Studies have been recording the rehearsals and the final celebration, and over the next few weeks will be editing a video.

Pupils in 3rd and 4th ESO visited all classes in school to teach the movements to the cup song. The final result will be posted as soon as they have it ready so that we can all  enjoy it.

The most important thing, however, is to be part of a global event that aims to make Peace not an exception but the the every day norm.
