Following your interest and feedback, one of the areas that St. Peter’s School has committed to expand and improve is our community life. We realise that apart from the education goals, connection is why many international families choose our school.
We also acknowledge that connection doesn’t happen on its own and that we are responsible for designing our community gatherings for the kind of connections we want to create.
“Connection is the energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard and valued. When they can give and receive without judgement. And when they derive sustenance and strength from the relationship.”
We have set out some goals for the type of connections we want to promote for parents and carers at St. Peter’s:
- face to face
- that take us out of our comfort zone and inspire us to innovate
- where families feel safe and supported to brave their parenting and education journey
- where we are role models to our children as open-minded and communicative people
- that extend beyond the school years through our Singularity Foundation for alumni
As part of these goals, we are launching an app for parents called Classlist and we would like to invite the whole school to sign up. Classlist is a parent/carer app that brings you into the heart of our school social community. It helps you to connect and help each other. It is a safe and inclusive system that we believe will help us build a stronger international school community at St. Peter’s.
With Classlist, you’ll be able to contact the parents in your child’s class and see who’s who so you can put a face to a name. Classlist will keep you informed about what school social events are coming up, and there’s lots more you can do: post questions of the other parents in your child’s class, form special interest groups, as well as RSVP to events.
Classlist is UK-based and fully GDPR-compliant and is already being used successfully by parents in thousands of other international schools. You can share as much or as little contact information with other parents as you like, and can even keep your own email address private whilst still receiving messages. Everyone using Classlist has to comply with the Classlist Community Guidelines which include being respectful of fellow parents and not using the app to complain about the school or individuals connected with the school.
You will receive an invitation to join the Classlist app in the next couple of days.
We look forward to building our St. Peter’s community!
