This school year is a very special one: we are celebrating our 50th anniversary. The 2nd of ESO students have been the first ones to dig into the past and celebrate it with their families. They have been researching during the last few weeks about each and every decade of the school history. They were split into different committees to do their research and finally, gathered all the work, the pictures, the interviews in a video they edited specially for the parents’ presentation. The result was awesome!!! Check it out and enjoy it!
The official celebration will take place soon on Thursday 28th May.
Over the last two weeks you have probably noticed several models with IED (Istituto Europeo di Design) posters next to them. The IED organised some exhibits to provoke thinking about what Design is. To complete the exhibition, our Cultural Management students put their skills to the test and designed an educational activity to share their knowledge with younger students.
The idea was that the activity should be dynamic, interesting, educational but, in particular, it should encourage students to think about the steps involved in all aspects of design. They finally decided to prepare a guided tour for Classes 1 & 2 and were pleasantly surprised by the amount of comments, questions and intelligent remarks made by their young peers. There were suggestions on the colour of the design, the possible uses and interpretations… See for yourselves.
A couple of days later, Classes 3 and 4 saw a presentation of the models during their weekly assembly. The reaction was great, they all wanted to become designers in the future!
Thank to everyone involved and specially to IED for their exhibits.
Before going on Holiday for a well-deserved break, all the staff of St. Peter’s would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. The last few weeks have been full of activities, concerts and we even had a visit from a very special guess, Santa Claus.
We would like to share with you some of the moments from these two weeks:

There is no better way to start a new school year than celebrating Peace Day, a day that has proved to be the largest gathering of individuals in the name of peace ever seen on one day.
This year some of our secondary teachers had the idea of organising a different way of celebrating, a great event to strengthen our links and send the world our Peace message. This is how the Cup Song came to be and the reason why everybody has been very busy learning how to create a rhythm with a cup.
Those students in Pre-U who are studying Media Studies have been recording the rehearsals and the final celebration, and over the next few weeks will be editing a video.
Pupils in 3rd and 4th ESO visited all classes in school to teach the movements to the cup song. The final result will be posted as soon as they have it ready so that we can all enjoy it.
The most important thing, however, is to be part of a global event that aims to make Peace not an exception but the the every day norm.
